Ishan Kishan, an Indian international cricket player who was born on July 18, 1998, is a wicket-keeper batsman for the Indian national team. In March 2021, he played his first international match against England. Ishan Kishan is a player for both Jharkhand in domestic cricket and the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In a One Day International (ODI) match against Bangladesh in December 2022, he amassed 210 runs in 131 balls, making history as the youngest cricket player to hit an ODI double century and the first to convert a maiden ODI century to a double century.

On July 18, 1998, Ishan Kishan was born in Patna, Bihar. Pranav Kumar Pandey, his father, works as a builder in Patna. Ishan began playing for the nearby state of Jharkhand due to registration complications that arose between the Bihar Cricket Association and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

In the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy match against Delhi, on November 6, 2016, Kishan scored 273 runs, a record for a Jharkhand player in the competition. With 484 runs in six games during the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy and 405 runs in nine games during the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he led Jharkhand in scoring.

Ishan Kishan was selected for the India C team for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy in October 2018 , and he scored a century in the championship match. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for 2018–19, he struck an undefeated century against Jammu and Kashmir in February 2019. Ishan Kishan scored 113 not out in the following game against Manipur to make back-to-back tournament century.
He was included in the India Red team for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy in August and the India A squad for the same competition in October Kishan made 173 runs against Madhya Pradesh in February 2021 on the first day of the 2020–21 Vijay Hazare Trophy, contributing to a record score of 422.

Gujarat Lions purchased Kishan in the 2016 Indian Premier League auction. The Mumbai Indians purchased him in the 2018 auction. With 516 runs from 14 games in 2020, he was Mumbai’s top run scorer and took home the trophy for most sixes hit in the year.

Prior to the 2022 Indian Premier League, Kishan was acquired by Mumbai once more for ₹15.25 crore, which translates to ₹16 crore or US$2.0 million in 2023. This made him the second most expensive player from India at the auction, behind Yuvraj Singh profession
Ishan was included in India’s Twenty20 International (T20I) team for their home series against England in February 2021. Ishan Kishan was called up for the first time for an international team , and on March 14, 2021, he made his debut by scoring 56 off 32 balls. The player of the match honour went to him.

Ishan Kishan was included in India’s Twenty20 International (T20I) and One Day International (ODI) teams for their June 2021 tour of Sri Lanka. During the tour in July, he made his ODI debut, scoring 59 off 42 balls. Ishan Kishan was included in the India squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in September.
In the second of three ODIs against the touring South Africans in October 2022, Kishan scored his then-ODI career-high score of 93 runs . Later, in December, during India’s tour of Bangladesh, he became the youngest player, at 24 years and 145 days, to score a double century in an ODI. Ishan Kishan broke Chris Gayle’s record of 138 balls by scoring 210 runs off 131 balls and crossing the 200-run threshold in 126 deliveries. In addition, he became the fourth player from India to score a double century in an ODI and the first player to turn a maiden ODI century into a double century .

Kishan was included in the Indian team for the 50-over World Cup in September of 2023. In the first game against Australia, he was selected to open instead of Shubman Gill, however he was unable to score any runs. Ishan Kishan did, however, score 47 runs off of 47 balls in the second game against Afghanistan.
