Mannara Chopra began acting in 2014, committing to roles in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada films. Her debut was the Telugu movie Prema Geema Jantha Nai (2014), in which she was cast as a “very talkative college going girl” and was given credit at the time under her real name. The same year, Mannara made her Bollywood debut with Zid, a film co-starring Karanvir Sharma and directed by Anubhav Sinha. There were conflicting reactions to her portrayal of an obsessional lover. She was described as “radiant” by Mohar Basu, who also said that she needed “a good deal more experience.” However, the movie was a financially successful endeavour.
Soon after, Mannara Chopra produced three successful Telugu films: Thikka (2016), Rogue (2017), and Jakkanna (2016), which did well at the box office.
