He participated in the 2014 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and played for the Indian Under-19 cricket team. He became the first bowler for India to take two hat-tricks in international cricket on December 18, 2019, against the West Indies. In his 58th innings, Yadav became the fastest spin bowler for India to take 100 wickets in an ODI on January 17, 2020, during the second ODI against Australia. Along with Mustafizur Rahman and Rashid Khan, he grabbed the most wickets (10), which helped his team win the 2018 Asia Cup. He was also India’s highest wicket scorer.
Kuldeep Yadav Early Year
Yadav, the son of a brick kiln owner, was reared in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, despite his birthplace being Unnao. He disclosed in an interview that his father encouraged him to keep playing cricket and even brought him to a coach (Kapil Pandey). He aspired to be a left-arm seamer, taking inspiration from bowling legends Wasim Akram and Zaheer Khan. Despite his tiny build, his instructor was thrilled with the turn and variations he was inadvertently producing at the trials and insisted that he become a wrist-spin bowler. He began watching and following Shane Warne’s bowling videos after that, and he began to look up to him.
“I never stop watching Warne videos. He has the best ball grip, longest delivery times, and crease usage. I attempt to take notes from the video. ― Kuldeep Yadav during a conversation
Yadav also disclosed that he had gone through a difficult time in the past when he considered ending his life and quitting cricket after being left off of the Uttar Pradesh under-15 squad.
Yadav participated in the 2014 Champions League Twenty20 as a representative of the Kolkata Knight Riders, having previously played for the Mumbai Indians in 2012.
Yadav was repurchased by KKR in the January 2018 IPL auction. He was acquired by Delhi Capitals in the 2022 season auction four years later. Yadav had the most wins of any player that season with four player-of-the-match awards.
Kuldeep Yadav was spot on in the opening match of the 2023 Cricket World Cup against Australia, taking two wickets at a cost of just 42 runs. Against Pakistan, he bowled even more well, capturing two wickets for 35 runs. With just 1 wicket for 47 runs against Bangladesh, he had little success. Kuldeep’s ability to temper the aggression of the hitters was called into question after a lacklustre bowling performance against New Zealand. He responded to his detractors, though, with a fantastic bowling performance against England, taking 2 for 24.
