Indian actress and singer Padmini Kolhapure was born on November 1, 1965, and she is best known for her roles in Hindi and Marathi movies. Kolhapure proceeded to establish herself as one of the 1980s’ top actresses. Padmini Kolhapure has acted in more than 75 films throughout the course of her four-decade career, and she has won multiple awards, including three Filmfare Awards.

Padmini Kolhapure Childhood And Family
On November 1, 1966, Padmini Kolhapure, the second of Pandharinath Kolhapure’s three daughters by his wife Nirupama Kolhapure, was born into a Marathi and Konkani household. Shivangi Kolhapure, a former actress, is her elder sister. She was married to actor Shakti Kapoor and is the mother of actors Siddhanth and Shraddha Kapoor. Tejaswini Kolhapure, her younger sister, is also an actor.
The family adopted the surname “Kolhapure” due to their Maharashtra origin, Kolhapur. Nirupama Kolhapure, Padmini’s mother, was born into a Mangalore, Karnataka-based Konkani Brahmin family that spoke Konkani. Pandharinath Kolhapure, Padmini’s father, was a gifted vocalist and Veena player. He was the son of Pandit Krishnarao Kolhapure, a Natya Sangeet exponent who had been supported by the Baroda Durbar and a partner in the Balvant Natak Academy alongside Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar. The mother of Pandharinath was Balwantrao Abhisheki, the sister of vocalist Jitendra Abhisheki, and the half-sister of Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar. Padmini Kolhapure Career
She and her sister Shivangi performed in the chorus of several childhood movies, including Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Kitaab, and Dushman Dost. Later, Padmini sung in her own movies, including Sadak Chhap (with Kishore Kumar), Vidhaata, Daana Pani, and Professor Ki Padosan Hum Intezaar Karenge. Together with Bappi Lahiri, she released the album Music Lovers. In 1986, she and Bappi Lahiri’s company gave a performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London for the Greater London Council. She and Mithun Chakraborty costarred in the massive hit Pyar Jhukta Nahin (1985), and the two went on to work together in a number of other movies. While shooting on the 1986 movie Aisa Pyaar Kahan, Kolhapure got to know Pradeep Sharma, also known as Tutu Sharma, who was the movie’s producer. Following a brief romance in 1986, they were married. In February 1990, Priyaank Sharma, their son, was born. Priyank has acted in Sab Kushal Mangal (2020) and has assisted director Rajkumar Santoshi on Phata Poster Nikla Hero.
