Actor Kushal Punjabi was born in India on April 23, 1977, and passed away on December 26, 2019. In February 2011, he emerged victorious from the TV reality game show Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout, which is the Indian counterpart of the popular US game show Wipeout. Kushal Punjabi was awarded ₹50 lakh, which translates to ₹1.0 crore or US$130,000 in 2023.

Punjabi appeared in films such Lakshya by Farhan Akhtar, Kaal by Karan Johar, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal by UTV, and Sssshhh by Cinevistaa. Additionally, he had made appearances in several television shows; the most recent of which was Ishq Mei Marjawan on Colors TV, in which he portrays an advocate. He has also taken part in a number of reality series, such as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Fear Factor, Paisa Bhari Padega, Mr. & Miss TV, Nautica Navigators Challenge, and Ek Se Badhkar Ek.

Kushal Punjabi had choreographed several fashion shows, music videos, and the Gladrags Manhunt Megamodel and Mrs. India competitions. On April 23, 1977, Punjabi was born into a Sindhi family. Kushal Punjabi was born and reared in Mumbai, but his mother is from Hyderabad, while his father is from Karachi. His career began as a model and dancer , and in 2000, he took part in the Gladrags Manhunt Contest. In 1997, he also made an appearance on the music CD for the popular song Deewane To Deewane Hai by Shweta Shetty. His TV career started with the DD Metro channel’s A Mouthful of Sky in 1995.

It then moved on to Zee TV’s Love Marriage in 2002. He also starred in several other series, including Don for Star One in 2006, Santaan for Star Plus in 2007–2008, Kasamh se for Zee TV in 2006, Sssshh…Phir Koi Hain for Star One, and King Aasman Ka Ek Raja for Sony TV. From 2003 to 2004, he starred as a Sub-inspector in the detective-crime TV series CID: Special Bureau on Sony TV. Kushal Punjabi also had a brief part in the TV series Kkusum.

Kushal Punjabi made his television debut in 2004 as the lead in two successful comedy series: Zee TV’s Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and STAR Plus’s Dekho Magar Pyaar Se, which was an Indian translation of the renowned Venezuelan TV series Mi Gorda Bella. His earlier television programs were Antariksh (2008, Star Plus), Yeh Dil Chahe More (2006, Star One), Hum Tum (2008, Zee Next), and Rishta dot com (2010, Yash Raj Productions) on Sony TV.

From 2008 to 2010, he also made appearances in the Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat TV series on STAR Plus. He made a brief appearance in India’s first silent comedy series, Gutur Gu, on SAB TV in 2010. Subsequently, he landed a big part in Farhan Akhtar’s Lakshya (2004), directed by Karan Johar, and featuring Ajay Devgn in Kaal.

Kushal Punjabi had appearances in Hindi movies like Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal (2007), Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love (2007), Kaal (2005), Sssshhh… (2003), and Lakshya (2004).

Kushal Punjabi was a skilled dancer and choreographer who spent some time training and performing with Shiamak Davar. In 2011 he won the TV reality game show Zor Ka Jhatka, the Indian version of Wipeout!, which started with 28 contestants in an obstacle course set in Argentina and was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. He was filming for Balaji Film’s Rock the Shaadi as one of the three main leads. He had previously appeared in reality shows such as Mr. & Ms. TV (2007), Fear Factor, Fun on the Run, and Ek Se Badhkar Ek (2008) on Zee TV. Additionally, he entered the dancing reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as a wild card.

Kushal Punjabi Death

On December 26, 2019, Punjabi was discovered deceased at his Bandra, Mumbai, home. Suicide by hanging was listed as the cause of death. At forty-two, he passed away. Kushal Punjabi was experiencing depressive symptoms. According to his suicide note, he divided his belongings between his parents and kid before taking his own life. Co-actor Chetan Hansraj stated, “He was down with sickness and going through separation from his wife.”
