Born on December 29, 1973, Twinkle Khanna, also going by Tina Jatin Khanna, is an Indian writer, journalist, interior designer, producer of motion pictures, and former actor.

When Khanna’s debut nonfiction book, Mrs. Funnybones, was published in 2015, it became an immediate bestseller , making her the best-selling female author in India for that year. Khanna’s second book, The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad, was a collection of short stories, one of which was based on Arunachalam Muruganantham, the social entrepreneur. The book’s theme of breaking taboos around menstruation was eventually adapted into the National Award-winning feature film, Pad Man.
It was made by Khanna’s 2016-founded production company Mrs Funnybones Movies. According to Nielsen BookScan India, her third book, Pyjamas Are Forgiving (Juggernaut Books, 2018), made her the best-selling female novelist in India for the year 2018. In 2023, she published her fourth novel, Welcome to Paradise, to widespread acclaim. Within a few weeks of release, it was ranked one in fiction on the Nielsen BookScan and solidified at the top of the Crossword bestseller list.
Twinkle Khanna enrolled at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2022 to pursue a master’s degree in fiction writing, which she finished in 2023.

Twinkle Khanna was once an actress, most known for her roles in Hindi cinema. Twinkle Khanna, who shared her birthday with famous Hindi film actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, was born in Mumbai on 29 December. Twinkle Khanna is the first of two children of the couple. Her father, Rajesh Khanna, was born into a Punjabi Khatri Hindu family in Amritsar, Punjab, and her grandpa, Chunnibhai Kapadia, was a businessman from Gujarat.
