Vineeta Singh, an Indian businesswoman, was a co-founder and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics, having been born in 1983. Since Shark Tank India’s premiere on SonyLIV in 2021, she has served as a Shark (a judge or investor) on the business reality TV program.
Vineeta Singh Childhood And Schooling
Singh was born in Anand, Gujarat, in 1983. Her father, Tej P. Singh, is a biophysicist at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences, while her mother is a PhD holder.

In 2001, Singh finished her studies at Delhi Public School in R. K. Puram. Later that year, she enrolled at the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras. In 2005, Singh obtained her bachelor’s degree from IIT-M after completing her studies in electrical engineering. Vineeta Singh then graduated in 2007 with an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad).
In 2006, while pursuing her MBA, she interned for a summer at Deutsche Bank, where she turned down a position with an annual salary of Rs 1 crore. Singh and the other graduate who turned down the similar offer intended to launch their own lingerie company, but they were unable to secure the necessary capital, therefore the plan was never implemented.

Singh established Quetzal, her first firm, in 2007.Nevertheless, it was unsuccessful to give recruiters access to background verification checks. In 2012, she launched her second business, Fab-Bag, a subscription service that offered beauty product deliveries on a monthly basis. Singh and her spouse established Sugar Cosmetics, their third venture, in 2015.
The business targets the Indian market with its cosmetics and personal hygiene offerings . Following the completion of a $50 million investment with L Catterton, a private equity firm, Singh described the products of the company as appealing to a wide range of female skin tone preferences. Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh became a Sugar Cosmetics “brand evangelist” in September 2022 after making an undisclosed investment.
Singh was featured on the hard copy cover pages of Businessworld, Forbes India, and Business Today, among other business journals. Vineeta Singh disclosed to Business Today that she had experienced gender discrimination when money was only provided if her husband worked for the company full-time.

Singh was included in Forbes India’s W-Power list of women achievers for 2021. In order to introduce the Korean skincare brand Quench Botanics in India, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan established a joint venture in 2023 with Vineeta Singh and Kaushik Mukherjee, the cofounders of Sugar Cosmetics.
One of the main judges and investors in the business reality show Shark Tank India is Entertainment Singh. Singh participated in the Hindi version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Kaun Banega Crorepati, in 2022 as a VIP competitor, along with the other Shark Tank India judges. In the same year, she and the other Shark Tank India judges made a special appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show.
Vineeta Singh Individual Life
Vineeta Singh wed Kaushik Mukherjee in 2011, and the two are parents to two sons. While they were students at IIM Ahmedabad, she got to know Kaushik.
Singh has competed in 20 marathons, 12 half-marathons, and an ultramarathon. Vineeta Singh is also a triathlon. From 2012 to 2014, she also participated in the 89-kilometer Comrades Marathon. Vineeta Singh finished the Austrian Ironman Triathlon in 2017. Despite being six months pregnant, she ran 21 km in 2:42:51s at the 2018 Mumbai Marathon.
