Gurdas Maan collaborated with Diljit Dosanjh on the song “Ki Banu Dunia Da” in 2015, which was featured in MTV India’s season 4 episode 5 that aired on August 16, 2015.

Gurdas Maan Childhood

Maan is a native of Giddarbaha, Punjab; his parents are Gurdev Singh and Tej Kaur. Gurdas Maan received his early education in Giddarbaha and graduated from DAV College in Malout. Since he was little, he has been fascinated in mimicry and music.

Alongside artist Diljit Dosanjh, he also sang the hit song Ki Banu Duniya Da on Coke Studio MTV Season 4. After being released on August 15, 2015, the song received over 32 million views on YouTube in just one week.

Gurdas Maan took home the “Best International Album” trophy for Boot Polishan in the 2009 UK Asian Music Awards. During the inaugural Filmfare Awards Punjabi ceremony in 2017, he was awarded the “Filmfare Award for Living Legend”.

He can sing in Punjabi and speaks Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Haryanvi, and Rajasthani with ease. He has acted in Tamil, Hindi, and Punjabi films, but he is most recognized for his lead part in Waris Shah: Ishq Daa Waaris, which is a portrayal of the Punjabi poet Waris Shah while he is writing his epic poem Heer Ranjha. Juhi Chawla and Divya Dutta also starred in this film. He costarred alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta in a guest appearance in Veer-Zaara.

Gurdas Maan Individual Life

Manjeet Maan is the wife of this man. Gurickk Maan, their son, is wed to the actress Simran Kaur Mundi. On January 20, 2007, Maan was engaged in a car accident in a village close to Karnal, Haryana, India, where a truck struck and seriously damaged his Range Rover. Maan managed to get away with only minor cuts on his hands, face, and chest. Ganesh, his driver, suffered severe injuries but quickly made a full recovery.

Gurdas Maan was involved in two car accidents, this being the second. The first incident happened on January 9, 2001, in a village close to Rupnagar, Punjab, when Maan’s car collided head-on with a lorry. Tejpal, Maan’s driver, perished in this tragedy. Maan later acknowledged that, just prior to the collision, his driver had instructed him to buckle up. Maan feels that he would have also been dead if his driver’s advise had not been followed. Subsequently, he composed and sang a song called “Baithi sade naal savari utter gayi” in honor of his good buddy and driver.

Maan disclosed to the Express & Star in a newspaper interview that he is a devoted fan of the Manchester United football team. Tej Kaur, his mother, passed away in 2016.
