Indian politician Vasundhara Raje Scindia was born on March 8, 1953, and served as Rajasthan’s chief minister for two terms. She served as India’s first Minister of Small Scale Industries and Agro and Rural Industries, presently known as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, after having served as a minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Union Cabinet.
She was the first woman to hold the position of Chief Minister for the state of Rajasthan in 2003. She is currently a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s national vice presidents (BJP). She is the matriarch of the Dholpur-based Bamraulia family in addition to being a member of the Scindia family.

On March 8, 1953, Vasundhara Raje Singh was born in Bombay, which is now Mumbai. She is the daughter of the well-known Maratha royal dynasty from Scindia, Vijayaraje Scindia-Shinde and Jivajirao Scindia-Shinde, the Maharaja of Gwalior.

Raje finished her education at Presentation Convent School in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, then went on to earn degrees from Sophia College for Women in Mumbai in both political science and economics.
Vasundhara Raje Individual Life
On November 17, 1972, she wed Maharaj Rana Hemant Singh, a member of the royal Dholpur dynasty; however, they divorced a year later. Her son Dushyant Singh was chosen to represent her old constituency of Jhalawar in the Lok Sabha. Her siblings are the late Madhavrao Scindia, the late Padmavati Raje “Akkasaheb” Burman (1942–1964), who wed Kirit Deb Burman, the last surviving Maharaja of Tripura, and Usha Raje Rana (b. 1943), who wed into the Nepalese Rana family. Yashodhara Raje Scindia was a former Madhya Pradesh minister of industries.

Her only child, Dushyant Singh, is the Yuvraj of Dholpur and a four-time member of the Loksabha.

Raje became a part of the Indian political system in 1984. She was initially appointed to the newly established Bharatiya Janata Party’s national executive. She was also chosen to represent Dholpur in the 8th Rajasthan Assembly. She was named vice president of the Rajasthan BJP’s Yuva Morcha that same year.
