Vandana Pathak is the daughter of Gujarati actor Arvind Vaidya, who was raised in Ahmedabad after being born into a Maharashtrian family. She made her television debut in 1995, and her amazing portrayal of Meenakshi Mathur in the hit sitcom Hum Paanch catapulted her into instant celebrity.

She left the program in May of 2016 but came back in October of the same year. The program ceased to air in July of 2017.
In 2017, she landed the evil role of Padmini, also known as Vaidehi, in Rashmi Sharma’s medical drama series Savitri Devi College & Hospital on Colors TV. Pathak and Sharma earlier collaborated on Saath Nibhaana Saathiya.

Pathak was raised in Ahmedabad, where her father Arvind Vaidya was well-known for his work in Hindi and Gujarati cinema and television shows. She is wed to writer-director Neeraj Pathak, who has worked on movies such as Gumnaam (2008), Apne (2010), and Right Yaaa Wrong. The two children of the couple are Radhika, a daughter, and Yash, a son.
On the sets of her show Saath Nibhaana Saathiya in 2016, she suffered injuries after falling down stairs.
