The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), a political organisation based in Mumbai, demanded Crowney and other non-Indian actresses, including Alice Patten, to quit Bollywood in 2010. In the 2016 Telugu action drama Shankara, she also made an appearance in an item song.
