Born on September 27, 1965, Sudha Chandran is an Indian actress and Bharatanatyam dancer who works in Indian films and television shows. Sudha Chandran had a right leg injury in a car accident in 1981 while travelling with her parents from Madras to Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu.

Her parents decided to amputate her right leg since it had become gangrenous. She did, however, go on to become a well-known Bharatnatyam dancer. Ramola Sikand in Kaahin Kissii Roz, Yamini Singh and Seema Gujral in Naagin 1, 2, 3, and 6, and Chitradevi in Deivam Thandha Veedu—the Tamil adaptation of Saath Nibhana Saathiya—are among Chandran’s most well-known roles.

Sudha Chandran competed in the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa reality dance series.

Mumbai was the place of Sudha Chandran’s birth on September 27, 1965 . She had said in a Nettavu interview that although her family is from Vayalur, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, she was born and reared in Mumbai. Her father, K.D. Chandran, was an actor who was employed at USIS. Sudha Chandran received her B.A. and M.A. in economics from Mithibai College in Mumbai.

At the age of sixteen, Chandran was involved in an accident in Tamil Nadu in May 1981 that resulted in injuries to her legs. After receiving emergency care for her wounds at a nearby hospital, she was later taken to Vijaya Hospital in Madras. Her right leg had developed gangrene, and amputation was necessary, according to the doctors. According to Chandran, this was the most difficult time in her life.

After that, she was able to move around a little bit with the use of a prosthetic Jaipur foot. After a two-year hiatus, she resumed dancing and gave performances in India, Saudi Arabia, the US, the UK, Canada, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, and Oman. In 1994, Sudha Chandran wed assistant director Ravi Dang. Invertis University, Bareilly awarded her an honorary doctorate.

Based on her actual life, the Telugu film Mayuri marked the beginning of Chandran’s career.
