Lillete Dubey, an actress, and her husband Ravi Dubey welcomed him into the world in Delhi, India. Neha Dubey is her only sister.

Dubey has been performing since he was six years old and has worked in theatre and film. She received training in acting theories, Shakespeare, Meisner, Michael Chekhov acting technique, and speech and movement development at Yale. There, she appeared in more than ten shows, including Beckett’s works, Othello, The House of Bernarda Alba, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Womanly Voices, 30 Days in September, Wedding Album, Adhe Adhure, and August: Osage County with the Primetime Theatre Company, The President Is Coming with QTP productions, and The Maids with the Industrial Theatre Company are just a few of Dubey’s theatrical credits in India.
Since 2014, she has been acting and touring with Lillete Dubey’s highly renowned one-woman show, Heather Raffo’s 9 Parts of Desire. The production has received tremendous praise from both reviewers and audiences in South Africa and India. She performed as Portia in Vickram Kapadia’s staging of William Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice and made an appearance in Tennessee Williams’ Glass Menagerie, which was directed by Rajit Kapur.
In Pushan Kripalani’s staging of A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen, she portrayed Nora. Her filmography includes the Willard Caroll-directed 2007 film Marigold and Kunal Roy Kapoor’s 2009 feature The President is Coming, which was produced by Rohan Sippy.
Ira Dubey costarred with Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in the Rajshree Ojha-directed film Aisha (2010), where she portrayed Pinky Bose.

Additionally, she starred in the independent film Graveyard Shift, which was written and directed by Ahmed Fiyaz; the English film M Cream, which was written and directed by Agneya Singh and produced by Agniputra Films; Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend, which was directed by Dubai-based Japinder Baweja and won Best Actress Award at the third Indian Cine International Film Festival; and Barry John, Tom Alter, Lushin Dubey, and Imaad Shah (which won the Rhode Island International Film Festival’s Best Feature Film award).
Ira Dubey has reviewed films for Sony Pix on television for 108 episodes of the weekly programme Chicks on Flicks. Ira Dubey learned in the Chekhov Intensive Workshop at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York during the summer of 2014, and in the autumn of 2015, she trained at Adishakti in Pondicherry, India. Mahesh Dattani’s 30 days in September, in which she plays the major role and is a devastating drama of child sexual assault, was recently wrapped up for Zed TV.
Ira Dubey finished filming two feature films in 2016: Shehjar, an independent film directed by Nikhil Allug, in which she plays the lead, and Dear Zindagi, a Dharma & Red Chillies Productions production starring Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan. Ira Dubey also played Nora in A Doll’s House.
Ira Dubey is now the host of the Zed TV programme A Table for Two.
