Known professionally as Elli AvrRam, Elisabet Avramidou Granlund (Greek: Ελισάβετ Αβραμίδου Γκράvλουντ; born 1989/1990 ) is a Swedish-Greek actress presently residing in Mumbai, India. Elli AvrRam gained recognition for Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, a Hindi film. AvrRam gained notoriety in 2013 after taking part in the Bigg Boss reality TV series in India. Elli had a cameo in the Koi Jaane Na movie song “Har Funn Maula” alongside Aamir Khan.

Sweden’s Stockholm is where Elli was born. She was raised in Stockholm’s Tyresö kommun. Her Swedish mother, Maria Granlund, is an actress who appeared in Ingmar Bergman’s Fanny and Alexander, and her Greek father, Jannis Avramidis, is a musician who is currently residing in Sweden. From an early age, AvrRam developed a love in singing, dancing, and figure skating. AvrRam’s mother and aunt, who own a theater in Skåne County, Sweden, trained her in acting.

Since she was a young child, AvrRam has had a connection to India. She stated, “I was fascinated by Indian dance and the colorful clothes even when I was five,” in an interview with the local Stockholm daily Mitt i. She discovered that some Greek songs are connected to Indian tunes because her father is a Greek musician. From her youth, AvrRam has a dream of becoming an actor in Bollywood films. She used to get Bollywood films from a video store in Stockholm where Hindi movies were once sold. She used to watch Hindi movies on YouTube as well.

When AvrRam was seventeen, she joined the Pardesi Dance Group in Stockholm, where she performed dances to mostly Bollywood songs.

AvrRam has performed in a few acting roles in Sweden. The most well-known of these is from the criminal drama romance film Förbjuden Frukt, which was released in December 2008; in it, she portrayed the teenage girlfriend of the main character, Selen. She falls in love with a boy who has a criminal past against the backdrop of violent crime in the film.

AvrRam took part in the Miss Greece pageant in 2010. Elli AvrRam also had an appearance on Gomorron Sverige, a Swedish TV program.

AvrRam went to Mumbai on a tourist visa in September 2012 in order to pursue a profession as an actor in Bollywood. In an interview with N Magazine, she discussed her decision to perform in Hindi films, saying, “At the age of 14, I watched the nearly four-hour film Devdas on a TV in my room.” I stayed still the whole time. “Wow, that looks like how I want to act and dance.” I have to work on Bollywood films.

I had came to audition for his film after calling him.” She revealed, “Since I didn’t know Hindi yet, I asked the director to provide me the screenplay before I went for my audition for Mickey Virus so I could learn the lines by heart. I received four pages of discussion, and not a single person could clarify any of the words.

Although they thought I acted well at the audition, my accent wasn’t correct.” She beat out 200 other applicants and was added to the shortlist. “When I informed the filmmaker my mom worked with Ingmar Bergman,” AvrRam said in an interview, “he gave a strong reaction: ‘What!? Did she collaborate with Bergman? They were astonished beyond belief.” AvrRam has received extensive instruction in Hindi pronunciation and dancing form in preparation for her Bollywood debut. She portrays Kamayani George in this movie, which is about Mickey Virus’s romantic interest. Mickey Virus is portrayed by Manish Paul, a well-known TV personality who is making his feature debut. AvrRam competed in the 2013 season of Bigg Boss 7, an Indian reality TV series in which celebrities from all backgrounds share a huge home and are cut off from the outside world. Every week, they attempt to stave off eviction through public voting in hopes of winning prize money in the end. Starring Salman Khan as presenter, the program debuted in September 2013 and is based on Endemol’s Big Brother, a Dutch television program.

In November 2013, after appearing on the show for ten weeks, she was evicted. “I came to Bigg Boss with the agenda to have fun, not for money or fame,” AvrRam stated in a PTI interview. She made appearances in the movies Poster Boys and Naam Shabana in 2017. Later on, she hosted The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, a reality show. featured with Rohan Mehra and Saif Ali Khan in the song “Billionaire” from the 2018 film Baazaar. The song received positive reviews, despite the movie’s box financial failure.

For the movie Fraud Saiyaan, AvrRam did a dance performance to the song “Chamma Chamma”. In just three days after Tips Industries launched the unique song in December 2018, it had received over 15 million views on YouTube. The song was successful, but the movie didn’t do well at the box office. “I signed up for this dance song because it’s such an iconic thing to get to be part of the recreation of it,” AvrRam remarked during the song launch event. She and Sidharth Malhotra sang “Zila Hilela” together in the second song from Ekta Kapoor’s film Jabariya Jodi.

She made an appearance in the Sony song India song video Haaye Oye, which was released in March 2019. She portrayed Jesse in the 2020 motion picture Malang. She debuted in Tamil with the movie Naane Varuvean in 2021, starring opposite Dhanush. With Aamir Khan, her most recent special dance routine “Har Funn Maula” had over 90 million views on YouTube.
