Film career
In 1987, she debuted as a film staring opposite Aditya Pancholi in Nari Hira’s TV film Abhishek. She costarred with Naseeruddin Shah in Jalwa later that year. Later, she appeared in small roles in major motion pictures such as Raja Hindustani (1996), Saudagar (1991), Aashiq Awara (1993), Agneepath (1990), and Shola aur Shabnam (1992). She also sang item songs in films including the thriller Baaz, starring Govinda, and Judge Mujrim, starring Suniel Shetty.

Since then, she has mostly limited her acting career to supporting parts in Hindi films, most of them are comedies. Love Story 2050, Mohabbatein, Krrish, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Masti, De Dana Dan, and Bol Bachchan are a few of her films.
On TV
In 1993, she made her television debut on Zed TV with Wah, Kya Scene Hai, which was followed by Uncensored. Later, she hosted Archana Talkies on Sony Entertainment Television and appeared in Shrimaan Shrimati, Junoon.
Archana Puran Singh performed in the TV series Zed Horror Show as well. In addition, she produced Samne Wali Khidki and directed comedy including Jaane Bhi Do Paaro and Nehle Pe Dehla.
She and her husband, Parmeet Sethi, competed in the 2005 dance reality show Nach Baliye 1, where they were evicted in the sixth episode. She and her spouse co-hosted the first season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, another dancing reality show, in 2006.
After that, she made appearances as a judge on comedic series, such as Comedy Circus on Sony Entertainment Television. She played Begum Paro in SAB TV’s The Great Indian Family Drama in 2015.
She debuted as a judge on The Kapil Sharma Show in 2019. She portrayed Lakhan’s mother, Paramjeet, in the SAB TV series My Name Ijj Lakhan in 2019, playing opposite Parmeet Sethi, her real-life spouse.
