On May 25, 1983, in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India, Kunal Ravi Kemmu was born into a Pandit family from Kashmir, parents actors Ravi and Jyoti Kemmu. Karishma Kemmu is the younger sibling of the couple’s younger child, and he is the elder child. His early years were spent in Srinagar, where he attended Burn Hall School for his elementary education. However, following the 1990s Kashmiri Insurgency, he moved to Jammu. Subsequently, his family resided in Mumbai, Maharashtra, near Mira Road. After completing his education at N. L. Dalmia High School on Mira Road, he continued his studies at SVKM’s Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics in Vile Parle. Currently, he resides in Mumbai’s Khar.
His grandfather, Moti Lal Kemmu (original spelling of last name), is a playwright from Kashmir who has won multiple honours from the Jammu and Kashmir government, including the Padma Shri, the Sahitya Akademi award in 1982 for his playwriting contribution to Kashmiri literature, and the Rashtra Bhasa Prachar Samiti.
Kunal Khemu Career
In the 1987 Ved Rahi-directed Doordarshan TV series Gul Gulshan Gulfaam, Kunal made his acting debut as a young actor. In 1993, he made his screen debut in the film Sir, starring Mahesh Bhatt. Kunal Khemu went on to work as a kid star in films such as Dushman, Raja Hindustani, Bhai, Zakhm, and Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke.

In the Mohit Suri-directed film Kalyug from 2005, he portrayed the male lead. Kalyug’s foundation was the pornographic sector. He voiced Lord Indra in the animated feature Hanuman: Da’ Damdaar in 2017. He received praise from critics for his performance in Kalank and played a notable antagonist in Malang.
