In November 2012, the Garden Estate Co-operative Housing Society in Goregaon requested that Tijori and his family leave their home after receiving complaints from nearby residents. It was the family home of the Tijori clan since 2009. The building’s occupants accused them of acting impolitely, failing to pay bills on time, demeaning the society’s office holders, and bringing shame upon them.
Following a general membership meeting, the organization issued a resolution and a notice to Tijori requesting that he leave his apartments within the following thirty days.
