Born in Delhi on November 16, 1988, Kalathil Kuzhiyil Devadasan Dilin Nair, best known by his stage name Raftaar, is an Indian rapper, songwriter, dancer, actor, TV personality, and music composer who is connected to the music of Punjabi, Haryanvi, and Hindi.

Raftaar was a dancer when he began his profession. Along with Lil Golu and Ikka, he started his rap career in 2008 by recording songs and posting them on social media. After that, he joined the Mafia Mundeer gang and began collaborating with Yo Yo Honey Singh. Later on, Raftaar broke out from the group because of issues with credit.
Then, he joined forces with Sachit Takkar (Sachh) and Badshah to form the band “The Titans.” Together, they produced a large number of songs for Bollywood and the Punjabi music industries. Ankit Khanna helped him along the way, introducing him to the Punjabi band RDB, who signed him to their label, Three Records. Soon after the RDB members parted ways, Raftaar became a part of Manjeet Ral, which is now called Manj Musik. 2016 was the beginning of his solo career after he signed with Zed Music Company.
At the Brit Asia TV Music Awards, he and Manj Musik’s song “Swag Mera Desi” took home the Best Urban Single trophy. He began presiding over the reality series Roadies, Dance India Dance, and MTV Hustle in 2019.
Raftaar Childhood And Individual Life
Raftaar was born in Kerala’s Trivandrum (now Thiruvananthapuram) on November 16, 1988, to a Malayali couple living in Delhi. In December 2016, Raftaar tied the knot with Komal Vohra, the sister of Indian television actors Kunal and Karan Vohra. After submitting their divorce paperwork in 2020, they have been living apart. The COVID-19 epidemic caused a delay in the judicial processes, which ultimately concluded on October 6, 2022.
Raftaar Career
Raptaar rose to fame with the 2013 release of his single “Swag Mera Desi” on Manj Musik. “Ab yeh karke dikhao” is the translated line.from the song was a jab at Yo Yo Honey Singh (try it now). Yo Yo Honey Singh’s song “Party With The Bhoothnath” had already included “Ab yeh karke dikhao,” which sparked a public spat between the two rappers. In 2014, “Swag Mera Desi” took home the Brit Asia TV Music Awards’ Best Urban Song title.
Raftaar made his debut in the Bengali music scene in 2017 with the release of the movie One, which also starred singer Vishal Dadlani. Raftaar rapped and created a song for the Chaamp soundtrack as well. Raftaar and Varun Dhawan worked together on the second Breezer Vivid Shuffle album.
