Born on November 27, 1986 , Suresh Raina (pronounced ⓧ) is an Indian cricket player who has played internationally. When the primary captain of the Chennai Super Kings was away, he periodically filled in as captain of the Indian men’s national cricket team. During the 1990s Kashmiri Hindu exodus, his family fled “Rainawari” in Jammu and Kashmir union territory of India and relocated to Muradnagar town, Ghaziabad district, Uttar Pradesh. In 1998, Raina received training at the Guru Gobind Singh Sports College in Lucknow. Raina’s older brother is in the Indian Army, and he has a sister.
On 3 April 2015, Raina wed Priyanka. They are parents of two kids.
Ashok Kumar, Raina’s uncle, was beaten during a heist at their Punjabi home and did not make it out alive. To spend more time with his family, Raina opted out of the 2020 IPL season as a result.
