Indian cricket player Ravichandran Ashwin (pronunciation ⓨ) was born on September 17, 1986. Ravichandran Ashwin bats in the lower order and is a right-arm off spin bowler. 2010–11: The initial years and debut
Following his stellar 2010 IPL season, Ashwin was called up to the Indian team for a tri-series tour of Zimbabwe in May of that same year. On June 5, 2010, he played in his first ODI encounter against Sri Lanka, where he made a 32-ball 38 and took 2/50 in a match that India lost. A week later, in a match against Zimbabwe in Harare, he made his Twenty20 International debut, taking 1/22 in four overs as India won.
