Amar Kaushik Childhood

Growing up in Medo, Arunachal Pradesh, Amar Kaushik’s mother Shashi taught school and his father, an Indian Forest Service forest ranger, worked in the forest. In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the family relocated when he was ten years old. After graduating from Delhi’s mass communication program in 2006, he relocated to Mumbai. Members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena attacked Kaushik in 2009 when he was riding a bus, thinking he was the director Anurag Kashyap. MNS chief Raj Thackeray had berated Kashyap for naming his movie Bombay Velvet and had tried in vain to get him to rename it Mumbai Velvet.

Amar Kaushik Career

As Raj Kumar Gupta’s assistant director on Aamir, Kaushik started his cinematic career in 2008. Once more, he collaborated with Gupta to work as associate director on Ghanchakkar and No One Killed Jessica. Kaushik performed minor acting appearances in all three of the films in addition to his crew duties.
