Varsha Usgaonkar Childhood

On February 28, 1968, Varsha Usgaonkar was born in Usgao, Goa, India. Her parents are A. K. S. Usgaonkar, a politician, and Manikabai Usgaonkar. Her native tongue is Konkani. Her mother was a classical singer and her father was a Cabinet Minister in Goa. Pandit Sudhakar Karandikar helped her refine her classical music abilities. During her college years, she actively participated in theater plays while pursuing her B.Com degree in Goa.

When Usgaonkar played the lead role in the wildly popular Marathi theatrical play Brahmachari in 1982, she became well-known. With super-hit films like Gammat Jammat, Hamaal De Dhamaal, Saglikade Bombabomb, Savat Mazi Ladki, Shejari Shejari, Ek Hota Vidushak, Lapandav, and Aflatoon, she went on to become one of the leading actresses in the Marathi cinema industry. Varsha Usgaonkar played the lead role in the Bollywood movies Pathreela Raasta and Ghar Aaya Mera Pardesi. Usgaonkar was raised in Goa and speaks Konkani. Varsha Usgaonkar is the daughter of A. K. S. Usgaonkar, the former deputy speaker of Goa. Manisha Tarcar and Tosha Kurade are her two sisters.

In the late 1980s, Usgaonkar dated Nitish Bharadwaj; they split up in 1991. In March 2000, she wed Ajay Sharma, the son of Indian cinema music director Ravi Shankar Sharma.
