Born on October 6, 1989, Roopal Tyagi is an Indian actress and choreographer who primarily works in Hindi television. Her most well-known role was as Gunjan in the drama series Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke on Zed TV. Later in 2015, she took part in seasons eight and nine of the dance reality shows Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Bigg Boss.

On October 6, 1989, Tyagi was born in Bangalore, India. Roopal Tyagi completed her schooling at Bangalore’s Sophia High School. She had her training at her birthplace of Bangalore at Shiamak Davar’s dance studio. Later, she was given the chance to work with Bollywood choreographer Pony Verma on the song “Mere Dholna” from the film Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Roopal Tyagi moved back and forth between Bangalore and Mumbai for two years before settling in Mumbai.

In 2007, Pallas began her professional life as a choreographer. Roopal Tyagi made her acting debut in Ek Nayi Chhoti Si Zindagi, following her role as Mansha in Hamari Betiyoon Ka Vivaah.

In the Indian soap opera Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, she portrayed Gunjan. As a wildcard entrant in the eighth season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Roopal was eliminated after just one week. Roopal Tyagi participated in Bigg Boss 9, where she lost in the second voting week after being paired with Digangana Suryavanshi.
As Gunjan and Rachana (Mahima Makwana), Tyagi received two Zed Rishtey Awards in 2012; moreover, he was named Favourite Behen and Favourite Nayi Jodi (Ankit Gera) for his roles as Gunjan and Mayank. Roopal Tyagi was a 2013 Indian Telly Awards Fresh New Face nominee for the character Gunjan.
In 2020, Tyagi penned an open letter on her Instagram, criticising the Indian community for degrading the series’ “backwardness” and its lead female character.
“You call it a progressive show, but in reality, you’re making a drama about the problems that ‘black’ skin girls,’short’ girls, ‘fat’ girls, etc. are facing. She told the producers, “No.”
