Neelam Kothari also costarred with Chunky Pandey in the films Aag Hi Aag (1987), Paap Ki Duniya (1988), Khatron Ke Khiladi (1988), Ghar Ka Chiraag (1989), and Mitti Aur Sona (1989).

Neelam Kothari Childhood

Iranian mother Parveen Kothari and Gujarati Indian father Shishir Kothari welcomed Neelam Kothari Soni into the world in Hong Kong. Neelam Kothari studied jazz ballet and piano playing as a child. Her family has a customary jewellery manufacturing company that creates elegant items. Neelam Kothari attended Rutherford House at Island School, where she received her education.

She relocated to Bangkok with her family when she was a teenager. Director Ramesh Behl contacted Neelam while she was on vacation in Mumbai. Alongside Tina Munim’s nephew Karan Shah, she signed Jawaani (1984) to try her hand at acting.

Neelam’s debut film was a critical and economic success, but it also brought her a lot of offers. Her performance as Govinda’s debutante in Ilzaam (1986) helped her become well-known. Neelam Kothari and Govinda were a very popular duo, starring together in 14 films. Love 86 (1986), Khudgarz (1987), Hatya (1988), and Taaqatwar (1989) are some of their more popular songs.

Five of the eight films she costarred in with Chunkey Pandey were hits: Zakham (1989), Khule-Aam, and Mandira, a Bengali film. Her other hits with him were Aag Hi Aag (1987), Paap Ki Duniya (1988), Khatron Ke Khiladi (1988), Mitti Aur Sona (1989), and Ghar Ka Chiraag (1989). Neelam Kothari also collaborated with Prosenjit Chatterjee on the 1990 Bengali film Badnam.

Neelam has also starred in two well-known films: the ensemble family drama Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999), in which she played a crucial supporting part, and the well-known Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), in which she played herself as a VJ. Her most recent movie, the much-postponed Kasam (2001), starred Chunky Pandey.

Neelam Kothari costarred with Maheep Kapoor, Bhavna Pandey, and Seema Sajdeh in two seasons of the Netflix original reality series Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives in 2020–2021.

Neelam appeared in the music video for Bina Mistry’s Hot Hot Hot song, which is included in the 1995 BMG album Channel [V] Hits: The Ultimate Dance Collection, a collection of dance hits. After appearing on the soundtrack of Bend It Like Beckham (2002), the song became popular.

Neelam Kothari Individual Life

Neelam wed the son of a UK businessman, Rishi Sethia, in October 2000 , but they soon separated. She briefly dated actor Samir Soni before getting married to him in 2011. They named their adopted daughter Ahana in 2013.

Neelam, along with co-stars Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, and Tabu, was accused in 1998 under the Wildlife Act and the IPC for poaching two blackbucks in Kankani during the making of Hum Saath Saath Hain. On April 5, 2018, the CJM court in Jodhpur found her not guilty.
