Mukherjee made his acting debut as Sheela in Jhalli Anjali. After that, she starred as Sanjana on Bindass in Yeh Hai Aashiqui, alongside Reyansh Bhatia, and as Arshiya in Twist Wala Love.
In 2016, Mukherjee debuted in her breakout role as Aliya opposite Abhishek Verma and Abhishek Malik on Ekta Kapoor’s Star Plus show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. Krishna Mukherjee also booked a negative part at the same time for Kapoor’s other project, the supernatural fiction series Naagin 3, in which she made an appearance in the final few episodes. In May 2019, she made her stage debut as Taamsi.
Following Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’s finale in December 2019, Mukherjee took a little break from performing. Kuch Toh Hai: Naagin Ek Naye Rang Mein, or just Kuch Toh Hai, was announced in January 2021 as a spin-off of Naagin 5. Krishna Mukherjee starred with Harsh Rajput as Priya Singhania in 2022. Krishna Mukherjee also held a position opposite Shehzada Dhami in Shubh Shagun, Dangal.
