Feryna Wazheir Early Life
Feryna was born in Glasgow, Scotland, into a Muslim Indian family. Feryna Wazheir participated in amateur theatre, did voice-overs, and played in Eve Ensler’s production The Vagina Monologues . Feryna majored in cultural studies and film communication in college. Photographer Farookh Chotia discovered Feryna while on vacation in India and utilised her for Elle India, Seventeen, and L’Officiel picture shoots.
Since then, Feryna has received instruction and experience from Satyadev Dubey, Alyque Padamsee, and the London-based Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA).
Feryna Wazheir Career
Feryna began her career doing lead roles in music videos directed by Hariharan and A. R. Rahman . Feryna Wazheir made her Bollywood debut in Sadiyaan shortly after, in 2010. She was described as “beauty, innocence, and vulnerability personified” by the late Yash Chopra.

After that, Feryna starred in Rang Rasiya, directed by Ketan Mehta, which was released in 2014 and took home the Audience Award at the London Indian Film Festival in 2011. Feryna plays a journalist and the third woman in the life of Raja Ravi Varma, an Indian painter from the 19th century, in the film.
Feryna received an official Brand Ambassador position for the London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) 2012 after winning a festival. In 2013, she took on the position of LIFF’s face once more.
In 2012, Feryna also acted in the British short film Khaana, which was helmed by Cary Sawhney, the creative director of LIFF. In the film, Feryna plays a young, devout Muslim woman who adores the British meal fish and chips as it explores the lines separating home and the outside world. The movie has been shown at US film festivals, where it was awarded “Best Short Film” at the 2013 New York Film Festival and “Future Filmmaker Award 2012” at the Palm Springs Short Film Festival.
Alongside Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur, Feryna starred in the 2016 movie Airlift as Tasneem. The story takes place in Kuwait in 1990 during Saddam Hussein’s invasion. Feryna Wazheir also starred in director Cary Shawney’s short British film, A Secret Heart.[Reference required] She plays a British Jewish girl during World War II in this movie. The British film A Matter of Life & Death, directed by Powell and Pressburger, served as inspiration for the plot.
