Born on June 5, 1963, Vijay Raaz is an Indian actor, director, and narrator who primarily works in Hindi cinema. Since making his feature film debut in 1999’s Bhopal Express, he has acted in over 90 films. His big break came in the 2001 film Monsoon Wedding, when he played Dubeyji.

Raaz gained notoriety for his humorous roles in Dhamaal (2007) and Run (2004). In addition to playing gangster roles in Delhi Belly (2011) and Dedh Ishqiya (2014), he is well-known for his work in Stree (2018), Lootcase (2020), Gully Boy (2019) starring Zoya Akhtar, and Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022) directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Raaz was born on June 5, 1963, in Delhi. Vijay Raaz participated in the dramatic society at P.G.D.A.V. College, University of Delhi, where he studied. Vijay Raaz relocated to Mumbai in order to concentrate on his film career, and there he landed a minor but important role in Ram Gopal Varma’s Jungle. First episode of Jaspal Bhatti’s well-known sitcom “Flop Show” had an appearance by Vijay Raaz.
Naseeruddin Shah had watched him perform at the NSD and suggested him to Mira Nair for the Monsoon Wedding and Mahesh Mathai for the Bhopal Express.
