Actor and television host Sharman Joshi was born in India on April 28, 1979, and he primarily works in Hindi films. His performances in films like Rang De Basanti (2006), Golmaal (2006), Dhol (2007), and 3 Idiots (2009) have made him most well-known.
Sharman Joshi Early Life
Joshi comes from a family of actors and performers who are Gujarati Brahmins . His aunt Sarita Joshi (Bhosle) and cousins performed in Marathi and Gujarati theatre, while his father Arvind Joshi was a seasoned actor in Gujarati theatre. Actor Rohit Roy is his brother-in-law and sister, Manasi Joshi Roy.
Professional Theatre
Joshi has directed, produced, and performed in stage productions in Gujarati, Hindi, English, and Marathi. He starred in and directed a number of theatre productions. In the Gujarati adaptation of the well-known drama All the Best, which ran for more than 550 performances in three years, he played a deaf character. “Ame Layi Gaya, Tame Rahi Gaya” is another well-known comic piece in which he performed in four distinct parts. Sharman Joshi debuted as a director in 2016 with the Hindi romantic comedy Main Aur Tum. He plays the lead, costarring with Tejashree Pradhan.

In the 1999 art picture Godmother, he made his cinematic debut. N Chandra’s Style (2001) came out after it. Xcuse Me (2003), Style’s sequel, and additional comedies like Shaadi No. 1 (2005) came after. He featured in Rang De Basanti in 2006.
Sharman Joshi acted in the comedy Golmaal later that year. He made appearances in Dhol, Raqeeb, and Life in a… Metro in 2007. He played the role of Shyam in the Hello movie, which was based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel One Night @ the Call Centre, which came out the next year.

Joshi portrayed the major male role in the 2008 film Sorry Bhai! and Ravu Rastogi, one of the three characters in the 2009 film 3 Idiots, which was adapted from the novel Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat. Additionally, he starred in the 2012 family drama Ferrari ki Sawaari. He appeared in the erotic-thriller Wajah Tum Ho as a police officer as well. He starred in the Bollywood films 3 Storeys and Kaashi in Search of Ganga (2018). In the film 3 Idiots, he played Raju Rastogi, a role that has also made him famous. In 2019, he made his digital debut as the male protagonist opposite Asha Negi in Balaji Telefilms’s Baarish.

Sharman Joshi was the host of PokerFace: Dil Sachcha Chehra Jhootha, a game show on Real T.V. in 2009 that was modelled after the British game show PokerFace. He has been bestowed with a lifelong membership in the Asian Academy of Film & Television’s International Film and Television Club. In January 2017, Sharman discussed his experience of being typecast during his career at a TEDx conference in Mumbai.
Sharman Joshi Individual Life
At the age of 26, Joshi wed Prerana Chopra, the actress Prem Chopra’s daughter, on June 15, 2000. Vaaryan and Vihaan Joshi, twins, and Khyana Joshi make up the couple’s three children.
