Born on November 9, 1996, Paras Kalnawat is an Indian model and actor who gained notoriety for his roles as Samar Shah in Anupamaa, Faraz Sheikh in Ishq Aaj Kal, and Sanjay Singh Ahlawat in Meri Durga.

A member of a Brahmin family, Kalnawat was born on November 9, 1996 in Bhandara, a district close to Nagpur, to businessman Bhushan Kalnawat and Anita Kalnawat. Pragati Kalnawat Sharma is Kalnawat’s older sister. After completing his education at a nearby Nagpur school , he enrolled in S.K. Somaiya College of Arts, Science, and Commerce to obtain a Bachelor of Commerce degree. After earning his dancing diploma from Terence Lewis dancing Academy, he then relocated to Mumbai in 2014 in order to pursue a career as an actor .

While filming the Holi scene at Anupamaa on March 27, 2021, he received word of his father’s unexpected death from a heart attack. Early employment and career modelling (2016–2020)
In 2016 , Kalnawat commenced his career in modelling. In 2017, he made his acting debut in an Aye Zindagi episode as Dhruv. He made his television debut in July 2017 in StarPlus’s Meri Durga, playing the lead character of Sanjay Singh Ahlawat, alongside Srishti Jain, until the show ended.

Paras Kalnawat played recurring parts in Kaun Hai? and Laal Ishq later that year. He debuted on the internet in 2019 when he played Shivam Noon opposite Palak Purswani in ALT Balaji’s Dil Hi Toh Hai 2. He then played the antihero Faraz Sheikh opposite Ankitta Sharma in all four seasons of the online series Ishq Aaj Kal that same year. He then returned to the character of Shivam in Dil Hi Toh Hai 3 with Poulomi Das early in 2020.
