Prior to his death in May 1964, Nehru served as prime minister under Lal Bahadur Shastri. Agnihotri claimed to be tweeting a true photo of a protester against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in January 2020. Agnihotri made a bogus claim in February 2020 that COVID-19 can be killed by cannabis.
Twitter suspended his account in September 2018 until he removed a disparaging comment about Swara Bhaskar. Vivek tweeted, “Where is the placard – ‘#MeTooProstituteNun’?” in reaction to Swara criticizing politician P. C. George for referring to an accused rape victim as a prostitute. It was assumed that Swara was being called a prostitute by the tweet. Agnihotri justified his post, stating that he was drawing attention to the liberals’ selective demonstrations against supposed Hindu offenders.
Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, received a legal notice from Vivek Agnihotri and his team, which also included Pallavi Joshi and Abhishek Agarwal. The notice had demanded that she withdraw her remarks characterizing their video, “The Kashmir Files,” as deceptive propaganda meant to degrade a certain community.
