Born on March 17, 1974, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, also known as Bachchan (pronounced [ˈbətːʃən]), is an Indian columnist, novelist, and former model. Shweta Bachchan has written blockbuster books like Paradise Towers and has been a columnist for Vogue India and Daily News and Analysis. Shweta Bachchan has modeled for commercials on television and started her own clothing line, MXS, in 2018.

On March 17, 1974, Shweta Bachchan was born into the Bollywood actor family of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. Boston University was her alma mater.

On February 16, 1997, Bachchan wed businessman Nikhil Nanda of the Escorts Group. Nikhil is the son of Rajan Nanda and Ritu Nanda, the daughter of Hindi film actor-producer Raj Kapoor. The couple’s two children are an actress named Agastya Nanda (born November 2000) and an entrepreneur named Navya Naveli Nanda (born December 1997).
