Rakhi Sawant, an Indian dancer, model, actress, and talk show host on television, was born Neeru Bheda on November 25, 1978. She is also known by her stage name, Fatima Durrani. She has acted in numerous Hindi films as well as a few Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Marathi productions.

She participated in Bigg Boss 1 (2006), the first season of the Indian reality television show, and Bigg Boss 14 (2020), where she was a challenger and finalist. In the first season of the Swayamvar television series, she was the intended bride. In Bollywood, Sawant has made a name for herself as a sex icon.
In order to run in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Sawant founded the Rashtriya Aam Party, a political organization chaired by Jai Shah. She did, however, join the Republican Party of India (A) following the election.

Rakhi Sawant was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, on November 25, 1978, as Neeru Bheda to Jaya Bheda. Rakhi took on her stepfather Anand Sawant’s surname after Jaya married the police officer at Worli Police Station, Anand Sawant. Sawant made his acting debut as Ruhi Sawant in the movie Agnichakra, but he later changed his name to Rakhi Sawant. She has a sister named Usha Sawant and a brother named Rakesh Sawant.
Rakhi Sawant Career
As Ruhi Sawant, she made her feature début in the 1997 movie Agnichakra. She continued with Bollywood flicks Joru Ka Ghulam, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain, and Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke, where she had modest roles and dance routines.

She went through an audition for a role in the Bollywood movie Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne in 2003. Before getting chosen for her breakout item number, “Mohabbat Hai Mirchi,” which was composed by Himesh Reshammiya, she went through roughly four auditions. Sawant had a few small roles in movies like Main Hoon Na and Masti.
She had an appearance in the music video for “Pardesiya” from the D.J. Hot Remix – Vol. 3 album in 2005.
Début And Success On Television (2006–Present)
At his birthday party in June 2006, Mika Singh made an effort to kiss her, sparking a controversy in the media. She made an appearance in the inaugural season of Bigg Boss, a reality show, a few months later. In the fourth week, she was kicked out, but she later returned. Although she was one of the top four finalists, she was eliminated a few days prior to the grand finale on January 24, 2007, Day 84.
Rakhi debuted as a singer in Venus Records & Tapes Pvt. Ltd.’s 2007 release Super Girl. Later, she and Abhishek Avasthi took part in the dance reality show Nach Baliye, where she placed first runner-up. Sawant made an appearance in the 2008 movie Krazzy 4 for the song ‘Dekhta Hai Tu Kya’.
Sawant debuted the reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamwar in 2009, wherein she will choose her future spouse through the traditional Swayamvar ceremony. On August 2, 2009, she selected Elesh Parujanwala, a candidate from Toronto, Canada, as her life mate. Sawant, however, declared a few months later that the couple had broken up because of intractable disagreements. She said in an interview that she became engaged to Elesh Parujanwala for financial gain after their split.
Rakhi Ka Insaaf, a chat program she presented in 2010, was shown on Imagine TV. Following a participant’s death, there was controversy on the show because Rakhi had called him impotent. She and her mother Jaya Sawant took part in Sony TV’s Maa Exchange in 2011.
Sawant is a frequent stage performer and can be seen hosting, judging, or participating in reality shows. She performed in a comedic act at the 57th Filmfare Awards in 2012 alongside Shahrukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor, and she participated in a dance performance in Malaysia in 2015 alongside Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.
She appeared in Welcome – Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki in 2013 alongside Madhura Naik, Sangram Singh, Anchal Sabharwal, and Chetan Hansraj. Life OK aired the program. Later on, she participated in the Box Cricket League.
Later, Sawant starred in the lead role of the thriller Ek Kahani Julie Ki. He also made a brief appearance in the television comedy series Bhaag Bakool Bhaag.
Sawant participated in Bigg Boss 14 as a challenger from 2020 to 2021. Despite being a finalist, she chose to forego the prize money of Rs. 14 lakhs and instead chose to walk away.
Rakhi Sawant Political Endeavor (since 2014)
She declared on March 26, 2014, that she would run as an independent candidate in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North-West. She established the Rashtriya Aam Party (RAP) on March 28. The election commission has not awarded a symbol to the party. Sawant, though, stated that she believes it would be a “green chilli” because it reflects her personality. Oshiwara-based businessmen are the party’s office bearers and money raisers.
She lost her deposit and only received 15 votes from the Mumbai North-West Constituency.
In June 2014, Sawant quit the Rashtriya Aam Party and became a member of the RPI (Athawale) party, stating that she wanted to engage with Dalits. Rakhi leads the party’s women’s wing and is the state vice-president.
Rakhi Sawant Individual Life
Sawant wed Ritesh, an NRI, in 2019. Their marriage terminated abruptly in divorce in the first part of 2022. She wed Adil Khan Durrani, her lover of a few months, in May 2022.

American female wrestler Rebel engaged Sawant in a dance match in November 2018 as part of The Great Khali’s Continental Wrestling Entertainment company. Rebel gave Sawant a bear hug and slammed her onto her back. Sawant’s back was hurt, and she passed out. She was brought to a hospital in the area
Rakhi Sawant Controversy
She was harshly attacked when, on April 4, 2017, she appeared in court in Ludhiana while wearing a burqa for making offensive comments against Sage Valmiki. Rahul Jogi, the national coordinator of the Indian National Congress, who was born on August 21, 1990, was with her at the time.

After marrying her partner Adil Durrani, Sawant converted to Islam, which sparked criticism. Some even claimed that she had changed her name to Rakhi Sawant Fatima. Adil, however, initially rejected the marriage, but a few weeks later, he came to terms with his union with Rakhi.
