British-Indian actor Arjun Mathur was born on October 18, 1981, and he primarily works in television serials, web series, and Hindi films. In addition to playing the lead in the Amazon Original series Made in Heaven, for which he was nominated for an International Emmy Award for Best Actor, he was seen internationally in the British drama series Indian Summers.

Mathur was raised in Mumbai and New Delhi, India, after being born in London, England . Rakesh Mathur, his father, owns hotels. Arjun Mathur has a younger sister named Sonia and an older brother named Gautam. At the age of thirteen, Reynoo Mathur, his mother, passed away in an automobile accident.
Mathur completed his A-Level education at Oaklands College in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, after attending St. Columbas School in New Delhi, St. Mary’s School in Mumbai, The British School in New Delhi, and The British School in New Delhi.
Instead of going to college, he decided to train as an actor at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York as well as Barry John’s Institute. Arjun Mathurserved as an assistant director on the films Bunty Aur Babli'(2005) and Rang De Basanti (2006) before he began performing.

Mira Nair and Farhan Akhtar found Arjun at the same time, when their short films, Positive for the ‘Aids Jaago’ project and Migration for themselves, debuted at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival. After that, he gave a number of outstanding performances in critically acclaimed independent films like “Barah Aana,” “Coffee Bloom,” the National Award-winning film “I Am,” and the English-language picture “Fireflies,” for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the 2013 New York Indian Film Festival. He also appeared in mainstream Indian films like “Luck By Chance,” “My Name Is Khan,” and “Ankur Arora Murder Case.”

Arjun has made multiple appearances in television ads. From 2013 to 2016, he served as a brand ambassador for Godrej, a well-known lifestyle brand in India. In the British drama series “Indian Summers” on Channel 4, he played the erratic nationalist “Naresh Banerjee.” In the 2018 Netflix original movie “Brij Mohan Amar Rahe (Long Live Brij Mohan),” Arjun broke with his reputation to win over viewers and critics as a Delhi-born underwear salesman who tries, but fails, to fake his own death.
Arjun played the lead in Zoya Akhtar’s Amazon original series “Made in Heaven” in 2019. For his nuanced portrayal of a gay man living in urban India during a period when homosexuality was illegal, Arjun was nominated for an International Emmy Award in the “Best Performance by an Actor” category. The program itself was well-received by viewers and critics alike, and four years later it was back for a second season.
Arjun was also a part of the suspense thriller series The Gone Game, which was created, filmed, and released in 2020 while the country was under COVID-19 lockdown.
