Indian choreographer Shiamak Davar is credited with being among the first to introduce modern jazz and western dance styles to India. In India, he is regarded as the contemporary dance genre’s guru. He is largely to blame for the modernization of Indian dance, particularly in the theatre and cinema sectors.

Shiamak Davar is well-known for his constantly changing “Shiamak Style” of dancing. His role involved overseeing the choreography for both the Commonwealth Games in Delhi and Melbourne. He directed the dance scenes for the motion picture Mission Impossible 4 in 2011.

Davar has choreographed performances by Indian actors and celebrities for the stage and screen, including the Filmfare and IIFA Awards. The Shiamak Davar Dance Company included Bollywood celebrities Shahid Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Varun Dhawan, and Ishaan Khattar. The Shiamak Davar Dance Company included upcoming Indian performers Ruslaan Mumtaz, Shubh, and child actor Darsheel Safary.

Davar’s choreography in the movie Dil to Pagal Hai got him the 1997 National Film Award for Best Choreography . Davar was awarded an honorary doctorate by Middlesex University in July 2011 in appreciation of his global and Indian entertainment contributions.

Davar is a Parsi who speaks Gujarati. He currently serves on the International Movement to Unite Nations’ (I.I.M.U.N.) Board of Advisors.

Davar won the President’s National Award for his work on the Hindi film Dil To Pagal Hai, which launched his career in choreography. Davar went on to choreograph for Hindi films including Taal, Kisna, Bunty Aur Babli, Dhoom 2, I See You, Taare Zameen Par, Yuvvraaj, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, No Means No (film), Jagga Jasoos, and Fursat after altering the perception of dance in Indian cinema.

Shiamak choreographed and appeared in the motion picture Little Ziziou. He co-wrote and sang songs with other Indian musicians like Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan, and Shweta Pandit for his smash pop album Shabop, which was mixed and arranged by DJ Aqeel.

Shiamak, the singer, is renowned for his intense and dynamic live performances. He has frequently described Elton John as his hero , and Shiamak is obviously influenced by John.

At a time when Indian pop music was still in its infancy, Shiamak made his recording debut in 1991 with the English-language album Survive. With the album Mohabbat Karle, which sold 1.2 million copies in India, he made his Hindi Pop breakthrough.

Jane Kisne was a hit song, especially among teenage females. It was nominated for multiple accolades, but it didn’t win any since Daler Mehndi’s “Ho Gayi Teri Balle Balle” took home the majority of the prizes.

The melody of the lead single “Mohabbat Karle” was lifted verbatim from Angelique Kidjo’s “Adouma.” Dil Chahe and Shabop are two more of his Hindi-language musical compositions. Songs featuring Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan, and Shweta Pandit were included in his most recent album, Shabop.

Shiamak has performed on stages alongside musicians including Bryan Adams, Eddy Grant, and Sting.He opened for Bryan Adams during his 2011 tour of India. In 2012, he gave an additional performance for Oprah while she was in India.
