Bajrang Punia Early years And Upbringing

In Khudan, Jhajjar, Haryana, India, Punia was born.When he was seven years old, he started wrestling, and his father supported him in taking up the sport. Punia was raised in a remote region. Traditional sports were out of his family’s budget. Rather, he had to participate in free activities like kabaddi and wrestling. At an early age, Punia’s family enrolled him in a nearby mud wrestling school; his father was also a wrestler. Punia began skipping classes to attend wrestling matches. In 2008, he visited Chattarsal Stadium and received training from Ramphal Mann. In order for him to attend a regional Sports Authority of India center, his family relocated to Sonepat in 2015.

Bajrang Punia is currently employed by Indian Railways as an OSD Sports Gazetted Officer. Punia is wed to Sangeeta Phogat, a fellow wrestler.

2013 Asian Championships in Wrestling

Bajrang won the bronze in the men’s freestyle 60 kg category, however he lost to North Korean competitor Hwang Ryong-hak 3-1 in the semi-final match in New Delhi, India.
