Actress, model, TV anchor, writer, dancer, and spoken word artist Uppekha Jain hails from Canada. Uppekha Jain plays a permanent part in Star Plus’s highly acclaimed serial series Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, making her the first Canadian to do so in prime time Indian television.

From early 2016 to mid-2017, she portrayed Monika Modi, the cunning daughter-in-law of an NRI who was determined to cause chaos in the Modi household. In addition, Uppekha gained international recognition for her spoken word rap in the viral film #Rap Against Rape, which exposed India’s shameful rape culture. After winning the 2008 Miss India Worldwide Canada title, Uppekha went on to become the first princess Miss India Worldwide in 2010.
Uppekha Jain Career And Formative Years
In Jammu, Uppekha Jain was born into a Jain household. Though she was a studious child, she was always encouraged to pursue her artistic interests growing up in the Greater Toronto Area. Under the guidance of the acclaimed Lata Pada, Jain, a Company A dancer with Toronto’s top Classical Indian Dance Institute Sampradaya Dance Creations, has performed all over the world in kathak and bharatnatyam dance.
Jain spent her adolescent years in Mississauga, where she attended Gordon Graydon Memorial Secondary School’s International Business & Technology programme before moving on to The Woodlands School. After graduating from high school with honours, she was accepted into Wilfrid Laurier University’s BBA programme.

Uppekha left her promising corporate career to follow her passion for the arts after working as an Associate Brand Manager at Cadbury Adams for just over a year after graduating with honours. Uppekha continued to perform with her dance company while she worked at Cadbury. She also participated in acting classes, including one at Toronto’s esteemed Sears & Switzer Acting School. Uppekha Jain had won the titles of Miss India Worldwide Canada and Miss India Worldwide 1st Princess in 2008 and 2009 at that point.
Uppekha Jain also took home the titles of Miss Talented and Miss Beautiful Smile. A role in the Mike Myers and Jessica Alba film The Love Guru followed shortly after. Uppekha Jain then appeared in a number of GTA advertisements. But in2011, Jain received a call from Mumbai, so she packed everything and relocated to the City of Dreams.
Uppekha, who was fortunate enough to land her debut commercial/ad with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, was making her way through Mumbai’s unfamiliar plains. These included Hoppits, starring Priyanka Chopra, Yardley and Line App, featuring Katrina Kaif, Just Dance, starring Hrithik Roshan, Simply Learn, starring Irfan Khan, and numerous other advertisements for household brands like Parle, Dove, Pantene, Maruti, Karbonn Mobile, Blackberry, Mumbai Midday, and numerous others.

Uppekha played lead parts in the independent films Moods of Crime and [The Interview], and she also had a supporting part in the first Yash Raj Films production, Luv Ka The End. Uppekha also established a prosperous career for herself as a live show anchor and emcee, presiding over three hundred events for a range of celebrity, corporate, and television programmes in India and abroad. Uppekha Jain is currently a highly sought-after celebrity anchor in North America and India.
Uppekha performs in theatre as well as movies. Uppekha Jain was a regular cast member of the Indian production of Eve Ensler’s off-Broadway show Emotional Creatures, which illuminated crimes and the hidden lives of girls all around the world. She also participated in a number of other Indian theatre performances.
A YouTube video named #RapAgainstRape, which Uppekha authored, co-produced, and performed in in 2015, received widespread praise from prestigious media including as The Huffington Post, The Wall Street Journal, NRI Tribune, Cosmopolitan, and numerous other magazines and news programmes. The video exposed the horrors women endure in India, including rape, abuse, and hypocrisy, while also criticising misogyny and the outdated mentality that persists there.
Uppekha secured a permanent cast position in Star Plus’s popular soap drama Saath Nibhana Saathiya in 2016. The clever but stylish Monika Modi captured the hearts of viewers, and the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law “jodi” with co-star Lovey Sasan gained widespread popularity. However, Lovey and Uppekha both made the decision to leave the programme in March 2017. Sources claim that Jain was not pleased with the direction her character was taking.
