Bhanot debuted his career in 2004 as a contestant on the reality series MTV Roadies 2. Then, in 2005’s Ayushmaan, he appeared as Akshay. He appeared as Mihir in Sanya from 2005 to 2006 and as Karan in Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar on Zed TV. Later, he had an appearance on Sony TV as Agni in Kulvaddhu. He appeared as a cameo on Kaajjal and Grihasti on Star Plus. Along with his ex-wife Daljeet Kaur, bhanot competed on the StarPlus dance reality series Nach Baliye 4 in 2009, and the pair won the competition. Michelle Danner, an acting coach in Hollywood, has instructed him.

Shalin Bhanot was seen taking part in Colours TV’s reality series Bigg Boss 16 from October 2022 to February 2023, where he placed fifth among the finalists. On the Bigg Boss 16 finals in February 2023, Ekta Kapoor made him an offer to play the male lead in the fiction series Bekaboo for Balaji Telefilms. He accepted, and he went on to appear in the programme.
