Indian actor Amar Upadhyay was born on August 1, 1976, and is well recognised for his roles in Hindi television. Amar Upadhyay began his career as a model and is well recognised for his work with Ekta Kapoor on the television series Kalash (2000)–2002, Kasautii Zindagii Kay (2005), Kkusum (2005), and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2000–2002, 2000–2002, and 2020–2022). Amar Upadhyay took part in Bigg Boss 2011 and made it to the finals.

His other TV series include Chand Ke Paar Chalo (2008–2009), Viraasat (2006–2007), Dekh Bhai Dekh (1993–1994), Ek Deewaana Tha (2017–2018), Ishqbaaaz (2019), Saath Nibhaana Saathiya (2015–2017), and Kyunkii Tum Hi Ho (2022–2023). In addition to television series, he has acted in numerous motion pictures, including 13B (2009), It’s My Life (2020), Kaagaz (2021), Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge! (1998), Dhund: The Fog (2003), LOC Kargil (2003), and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022).

Amar Upadhyay Childhood

On August 1, 1976, Amar Upadhyay was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, into a Gujarati family.He was born and raised in the Mumbai district of Malad, and attended college to study chemical engineering. Amar Upadhyay studied at the Pune-based Film and Television Institute of India after receiving his degree.[Reference required]

In 1993, he received an opportunity from Jaya Bachchan to star in the TV series Dekh Bhai Dekh after some of his photos appeared in Stardust magazine. Numerous TV shows, including Arzoo, Suhana Safar, Tulsi, and Aruna Irani’s Mehndi Tere Naam Ki, followed.

Amar Upadhyay eventually rose to fame in 2000 as a result of the hugely successful daily soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. As a matter of fact, when his character Mihir “died” in 2001, there were protests, phone calls, and letters sent to the TV channel’s head office. Eventually, though, his figure returned to life, and to this day, TV stars still remember him.

Following his triumph on television, he entered the film industry with Dahshat (2003). He next starred in J.P. Dutta’s war picture LOC Kargil (2003), and he costarred in the highly anticipated release Dhund – The Fog (2003) with Aditi Govitrikar. Additionally, he appeared in the R Madhavan film 13B (2009). Additionally, he starred in a few Bhojpuri films, including E Rishta Anmol Baa (2009), Tu Babuaa Hamaar (2008), Hum Bahubali (2008), and Dharam Veer (2008). After a two-year break, he later made a triumphant comeback to television by starring in the NDTV Imagine serial Chand Ke Paar Chalo (2009). Then he made numerous television serial appearances, most of them in recurrent or antagonistic parts. Examples of these are Sapna Babul Ka…Bidaai (2009), Doli Saja Ke (2009), Police Files (2012), Ek Thhi Naayka (2013), and Savdhaan India (2013).[Reference required] He entered the fifth season of the reality TV show Bigg Boss in October 2011 and placed fifth.

Amar Upadhyay made his television debut in 2015 in the widely watched Saath Nibhaana Saathiya series on Star Plus, playing the parallel lead character of Dharam Suryavanshi, opposite Tanya Sharma.

He portrayed the role through the 2017 series finale. He was the recipient of the Gold Award for best supporting actor for his depiction of Dharam Suryavanshi. Additionally, he played the antagonist Rajan Bedi in the 2017–18 season of Ek Deewaana Tha on Sony Entertainment Television. He received a lot of appreciation for his show performance.

Amar got back together with Ekta and Shobha Kapoor, the producers of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, in November 2020 for the TV series Molkki. In the Colours TV series Molkki, he portrays Virendra Pratapsingh, the main character. Amar Upadhyay made an appearance in the 2021 film Kaagaz, directed by Satish Kaushik and starring Pankaj Tripathi. He portrayed the primary antagonist, Vidhayak Jaganpal Singh. Salman Khan produced and Zee5 distributed the movie.

Additionally, Diya Ghosh, the daughter of Sujoy Ghosh, made her directing debut with a brief cameo in the Abhishek Bachchan film Bob Biswas (2021). Zee5 carried the release.Amar Upadhyay was also spotted in the key roles of Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu in Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

In Nima Denzongpa, he was also scheduled to play the lead role, but his entry was later cancelled because the programme was taken off the air.

He played the role of Rama in the television series Jai Hanuman – Sankat Mochan Naam Tiharo on the Dangal channel in 2022. Later that year, he revealed that he would be both an actor and a producer on the television series Kyunkii Tum Hi Ho. Shemaroo Umang carried the programme. He began portraying Ganga Thakur, Ganga Prasad, and Agni Thakur in Colours TV’s series Doree in November 2023.

Amar Upadhyay Personal Life

Amar Upadhyay is married to the engineer Hetal Upadhyay. Chenab is their daughter, while Aryaman is their son. In Taekwondo, he also holds a black belt.
