Indian vocalist, composer, songwriter, and performer Shakthisree Gopalan was born on October 25, 1988. Shakthisree Gopalan is well-known for her partnerships with well-known south Indian music composers like A.R. Rahman.

Shakthisree Gopalan has a long history of performing with many bands in the indie music scene, specialising in pop, R&B, trip-hop, and jazz in addition to film music.

After graduating from high school, she relocated to Chennai to attend the Anna University’s School of Architecture and Planning to complete her architectural degree.
Shakthisree Gopalan received thirteen years of training in Carnatic music. Voice Hunt 1 was held by SS Music in her eleventh grade. The auditions concluded it, as she was not yet eighteen. Shakthisree Gopalan ultimately prevailed in the second season of Voice Hunt by SS Music in 2008. She was given the chance to perform her first song for the movie Taxi 4777 during her initial audition in November 2008.

Career 2008–2012: The start of my
Shakthisree Gopalan began her training in rock and Carnatic music at the age of thirteen. In 2008, Gopalan made his film playback debut following his victory in the “SS Music Voice Hunt” . In Chennai Live’s Band Hunt, she came in third. Shakthisree Gopalan participated in the 2014 Madras Christian College (MCC) cultural fest at Deepwoods and National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli cultural fest Festember, SASTRA University cultural fest Kuruksastra’14, VIT University cultural fest Riviera 14, and Madras Institute of Technology cultural fest Mitafest 15.

2012 Playback and Break songs
When Shakthisree was given the task of designing A R Rahman’s music school, K M Music Conservatory, she came to know him. She gave him a listen to the songs she had written around that time. That’s when she received her big break, singing her first recorded song for her career, “Nenjikulle,” for the film Kadal.
On the other hand, the composer’s 2012 Bollywood film Jab Tak Hai Jaan’s title track was released first She also got to jam with A R Rahman on the unplugged version of her Tamil movie song “Nenjukkule” from Kadal. Shakthisree Gopalan later went on to record other songs for films like “Kattradhu Kalavu” and “Irumbukottai Murattu Singham”. Shakthisree Gopalan has also performed on several A R Rahman tunes as a backup vocalist.
Song releases from 2016 to the present
In December 2016, she also released “By Your Side,” a song on which she worked with bassist Nigel Roopnarine and Toronto-based keyboardist-producer Hari Dafusia. In addition to doing background vocals for motion pictures, she also worked with Prashanth and dropped the independent song “Begin” in November 2017.
In the movie Ponniyin Selvan, she recorded the song Aga Naga for A. R. Rahman. The song was initially used as a brief background track in the opening segment of the film. Following the publication of the first section, the song became incredibly popular with listeners. After that, the full song was made available as a part of the second portion’s primary soundtrack.
2024–present: Make your composing debut
In January 2024, she will make her musical debut as a composer for S. Sashikanth’s film The Test, which stars Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth, and Meera Jasmine. On May 4, 2023, music composer A. R. Rahman made her debut as music director known via Twitter.
