Jasbir Singh Bains, who was born on February 7, 1970, is an Indian singer, lyricist, actor, and performer better known by his stage name, Jasbir Jassi. Jasbir Jassi has thirteen albums out as of 2016. His debut pop album, Dil Le Gayee, was published by Times Music in 1998.
Jasbir Jassi Childhood
Bains was raised in a Jatt Sikh family alongside his two older sisters after being born in Dalia Mirjanpur village, Gurdaspur, Punjab, India, to Sikh parents Ajit Singh Bains and Prakash Kaur. A first-generation musician, he performed in the North Zone Cultural Centre and took part in musical dramas like “Sadha Bugdu Bulo”.

Motive behind Dil Le Gayee
Jassi met his Gujarati kudi in 1989 while attending a National Integration Camp in Himachal Pradesh for young people from border districts. The girl was from Bhuj in Gujarat’s Kutch region. Later on, she got married to someone else, but in 1998, Jassi found her. That same year, Jassi was travelling to Gwalior with Sham Bhuteja of Rohtak when she became agitated and dejected. She suddenly burst into tears and said to Bhuteja, “Dil Le Gayee Kudi Gujarat Di.” It was after this line that he was inspired to write the song.
Music tracks
The most recent soundtrack featuring Jassi’s performance was “Koka” from Khandaani Shafakhana (2019), starring Dhvani Bhanushali and Badshah. Writer: Tanishk Bagchi. He wrote and performed the song “Ek Onkar” for the 2019 movie Kesari. In 2011, he sang for Patiala House as well. He sang “Laungda Lashkara,” a Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composition, with Mahalakshmi Iyer and Hard Kaur.
Jasbir Jassi also appeared on the soundtracks for Dobara (2004), Hope and a Little Sugar (2006), and Mel Karade Rabba (2010), where he sang the title song. Pyar Mere is one of his performances from Dobara (2004). Jassi gave the song Ranjha a Sufi and pahari touch when she released it in 2015. The new Sufi trance track “O Laal Ni,” penned by Baba Bulle Shah, was released by him in 2016. His song “Tere Thumke,” penned by Bhatti Bhariwala and released under the record label TPZ Records, marked his comeback in 2018.
Acting
Khushiyaan, his debut movie with a lead role, was released in 2011. N.K. Sharma and a few others trained him. Additionally, he made appearances in a few Punjabi films, such as Heer Ranjha.
