Sanjay Gupta Biography, Wiki

Indian producer, screenwriter, and director Sanjay Gupta is mostly employed in the Bollywood sector. The majority of Gupta’s work consists of his remakes of American crime and action movies, including Mumbai Saga, Aatish, Kaante, Kaabil, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Shootout at Wadala, Jazbaa and Zinda, and Shootout at Lokhandwala. Sanjay Gupta has cast John Abraham and Sanjay Dutt in a number of his films.

Sanjay Gupta Career In Film

Gupta made his film debut in 1994’s Aatish: Feel the Fire, which starred Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Pancholi. Later on, he moved on to write and direct movies including Khauff, Jung, and Ram Shastra. Jung (2000) took more than two years to film. The 9/11 attacks compelled the film Kaante, which was shooting in Los Angeles in 2001, to reshoot several of its scheduled sequences from critical locations.

Kaante’s resemblance to Reservoir Dogs, a film directed by Quentin Tarantino, was observed by observers. Gupta claimed that a variety of other movies, such as The Asphalt Jungle, The Killing, and Ringo Lam’s City on Fire, served as inspiration for Reservoir Dogs. In response to claims of plagiarism, he went on to say that he would “beg, borrow and steal from any medium, be it films, newspapers, magazines, novels, reality, fiction, to make an interesting story.”

It has been said that Gupta’s 2006 film Zinda is an unofficial remake of the Korean movie Oldboy. In addition, he directed and co-produced Shootout at Wadala, the precursor to Shootout at Lokhandwala, and produced the movies Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007) and Dus Kahaniyaan.

He announced the purchase of Rakshak from Yali Dream Creations on December 24, 2019. Gupta shared the project’s details—which center on a superhero known as a “vigilante”—on Twitter. “I’m thrilled to announce that White Feather Films, my company, has obtained the rights to ‘RAKSHAK,’ an exciting graphic novel about a vigilante superhero. The director captioned the four comic book issue covers, “This is India’s first graphic novel to be turned into a massive and ambitious feature film to be directed by me.” He announced that he and co-producers Asvin Srivatsangam and Vivek Rangachari from Yali Dream Works would be producing it under their banner, White Feather Entertainment.
