Manjula Swarup became well-known as a producer and star of the 2002 movie Show. Manjula Swarup is the third child and second daughter of seasoned actor Krishna and his original spouse, Indira Devi. She is the sister of two brothers. Mahesh Babu, her younger brother, is a well-known Telugu actor, while her older brother Ramesh Babu was also a film producer.

Manjula’s father’s supporters were against her going into acting because they did not want her “…romanticizing and running around trees with other heroes.” Originally, Manjula was supposed to make her acting debut in a movie with Deepak, the grandson of actor M. N. Nambiar, but the project never got off the ground. In R. K. Selvamani’s Rajasthan, she had a brief appearance as a terrorist to launch her career. In the 1998 Malayalam film Summer in Bethlehem, which starred Suresh Gopi and Jayaram, she played one of the female leads.

Manjula Swarup went back to acting in 2009 with Kavya’s Diary, her next project. In 2010, she and her spouse directed Gautham Vasudev Menon’s romantic love tale Ye Maaya Chesave, starring Naga Chaitanya. The film was a box office success and received positive reviews from critics.
