Born on April 23, 1977, John Felix Anthony Cena (pronounced /ˈsiːnə/ SEE-nə) is a professional wrestler and actor from the United States. John Cena has been a wrestler for WWE since 2001, but he has only been active occasionally since 2018. He intends to retire at the end of 2025. Recognised by WWE as a record 16-time world champion, he is considered one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.

On January 26, a rematch for the united WWE World Heavyweight Championship took place at the Royal Rumble. Cena was sidetracked by The Wyatt Family and lost.

Cena was designated as a “free agent” by WWE in July 2017 during the Superstar Shake-up, allowing him to work for both the Raw and SmackDown brands. On July 23, Cena won a flag match against Rusev at Battleground. On August 20, Cena faced Baron Corbin at SummerSlam. On September 24, Cena lost to Roman Reigns at No Mercy.
