Faruk Kabir is an Indian film director, writer, and producer who was born on March 18, 1983, and is most known for his work in Hindi films. As an assistant director, Kabir began his career with the films Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Asoka.

At the tender age of 18, Kabir began his career assisting seasoned filmmakers such as Aziz Mirza and Santosh Sivan on projects like Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Asoka. Later, after covering 27,000 km by road for the critically acclaimed documentary Unheard Voices of the People of India, Kabir launched his career as an independent filmmaker. Saeed Mirza created the documentary. Faruk Kabir made his directing debut in 2006 with the Ajay Devgan-starring short film The Awakening. The audience praised the film for raising awareness of the problem of water disasters.

With Allah Ke Banday, which featured an ensemble star cast that included, among others, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharman Joshi, and Atul Kulkarni, Kabir made his feature film debuts as both a director and an actor. The movie, which addressed youthful criminality, was well-liked by viewers. The Chicago Film Festival also screened the movie. The movie was later nominated for thirteen times in 2011; Kabir received nods for Best Debut Director at the Filmfare and Star Screen Awards, while further nominations were received at the Stardust, Balaji, and IIFA Awards.

In 2010, Kabir wed the actress Rukhsar Rehman. Before Rukhsar and Kabir got married on March 23, 2010, they had been dating for six years. The pair declared their divorce in July 2023.

In addition, Kabir has directed more than a dozen music videos with musicians including Jassi and Sanober. Kabir participates in and has affiliations with the Super Fight League, which conducts events centred upon martial arts and airs them on Indian television. In March of 2014, he worked with SFL and BodyPower UK on the Body Power Expo. Kabir is skilled in Israeli combatives including Krav Maga, Brazilian Jujutsu, Taekwondo, Boxing, and Judo.
Faruk Kabir Surprises
Presently, Kabir is directing Shockers, the first horror web series in India , a project he co-created with his production company, Spiders Web. Actors like Kalki Koechlin, Dia Mirza, Amit Sadh, Amyra Dastur, Rajat Barmecha, Neha Mahajan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Prateik Babbar are among those who appear in the series, which is presently available to stream on the internet platform Hotstar. Arjun Rampal is reportedly a part of Season 3.
Faruk Kabir Additional Work
In addition to helming and performing in motion pictures, Kabir has directed more than a dozen music videos for T-Series and musicians such as Sanober, Jassi, and Mikka. He has also directed TVCs for Tata, Jabong, and UP Tourism, to mention a few, and produced plays for the NCPA Theatre Festival, including Bade Miyan Diwanae and Falsafa. Additionally, he served as an Honorary Creative Director for RoshanSpace, the biggest out-of-home media company in Mumbai.
