On February 17, 2022, he played his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2021–2022 Ranji Trophy. On April 5, 2023, Jurel made his Rajasthan Royals debut against the Punjab Kings in Guwahati, hitting 32*(15). This performance solidified Jurel’s standing among the group.
On July 14, 2023, he played his first List A match for India A against United Arab Emirates A in the 2023 ACC.

Dhruv Jurel made his Test debut for India in the third Test against England in Rajkot on February 15, 2024. He made 46 off 104 balls in his first-ever test innings, but he was unable to bat in the second because India declared at 430/4 on the fourth day following lunch.
Jurel kept India in the game in the first innings of the fourth test match against England at Ranchi, when he struck a vital 90 runs off 149 balls. As wickets dropped around him, England took control of the match.
He ended up being India’s highest run scorer for the innings. With a tenacious 39* run stand from 77 balls in the second innings, he prevented the Indian batting line from collapsing and forged an important 72-run partnership with Shubman Gill to lead India to victory.
