Born on December 18, 2002, Matheesha Pathirana (Sinhala: මතීෂ පතිරණ; Tamil: மதிஷ பத்திரன) is a professional cricket player from Sri Lanka who presently plays limited overs cricket for the national side. Because he based his bowling motion after Lasith Malinga’s sling action, he has earned the nickname “Baby Malinga.”

Matheesha Pathirana was included in Sri Lanka’s squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup before making his Twenty20 debut. Matheesha Pathirana was included in Sri Lanka’s squad for the West Indies 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in January of 2022.
