Amaal Mallik, an Indian music director, composer, singer, arranger, producer, background scorer, performer, and lyricist, was born on June 16, 1990. Amaal Mallik is Sardar Malik’s grandson and the eldest son of Daboo and Jyothi Malik. In 2014, he made his composition debut with three songs for Salman Khan’s Jai Ho, then wrote “Naina” from Khoobsurat.

Amaal Mallik Childhood

Of the two children born to music director Daboo Malik and Jyothi Malik, Amaal Mallik is the older. Amaal Mallik was born in Mumbai on June 16, 1990. Amaal Mallik attended Jamnabai Narsee School and graduated from Mumbai’s N. M. College with a bachelor’s degree in commerce. Armaan Malik, his younger brother, is likewise a well-known musician.

At the age of eight, he began studying music and developed a fondness for the piano. He studied piano and finished his Western Classical, Jazz, and Rock course at Trinity College of Music, where he was instructed by Benny, Xavier Fernandes, Tony Pinto, and Joy Bose, among others. Informally, he had instruction in Indian classical music from his grandfather Sardar Malik.

Amaal Mallik Career

Mallik started his professional experience early in life. Following his graduation from tenth grade, he worked as an assistant to music composer and background scorer Amar Mohile on the soundtracks of Sarkar (2005) and Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007) at the age of fifteen.

Later, he produced and arranged music for his father in films such as Kisaan (2009), starring Sohail Khan, on which he remixed ‘Mere Desh Ki Dharti’ with pop singer Daler Mehndi.

Malik composed background music for Sandeep Chowta and Salim-Sulaiman for films such Rowdy Rathore, R… Rajkumar, Saheb, Heroine, Youngistaan, Ab Tak Chhappan 2, and Phata Poster Nikla Hero between 2008 and 2011.

Amaal Mallik wrote two songs for Roy in 2015. Arijit Singh and Aditi Singh Sharma’s song “Sooraj Dooba Hain” was the biggest success of 2015 and won him a Filmfare Award for Best Music Director alongside Meet Bros and Ankit Tiwari. Singh was named the Filmfare Award’s Best Male Playback Singer for that song.

Next, he wrote three songs for Ek Paheli Leela: one was written by him alone, while the other two were written in collaboration with Uzair Jaswal. Together with Badshah, he wrote a song for the movie All Is Well. In addition, he wrote two songs for Calendar Girls and one for Hate Story 3. He wrote four songs for Hero and collaborated with Palak Muchhal on the song “O Khuda”.

Arijit Singh sang “Roke Na Ruke Naina” while he composed two songs for Badrinath Ki Dulhania in 2017. He also sang “Aashiq Surrender Hua” alongside Shreya Ghoshal. Along with Tanishk Bagchi and Akhil Sachdeva, Mallik received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director, while Singh was named the winner of the Best Male Playback Singer category. Mallik wrote every song for Noor and collaborated with Tulsi Kumar on one of her tracks. In addition to writing two songs for Chef, he also sung in Mubarakan, Golmaal Again, and two songs for Chef. His younger brother Armaan Malik sang both of the singles he composed.

Mallik wrote the songs “Ready to Move” and “Ghar Se Nikalte Hi” in 2018. Singing was Armaan.

2019 saw Mallik write two songs for the Sujoy Ghosh thriller Badla, “Kyun Rabba” (sung by Armaan Malik) and “Tum Na Aaye” (sung by K.K.). This made him the youngest composer to write songs for Amitabh Bachchan.[16] Mallik was a judge on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs, an Indian reality singing competition. He then composed “Chale Aana,” which Armaan sang for De De Pyaar De, who were accompanied by Luv Ranjan. Additionally, he wrote the song “Yeh Aaina” for Shreya Ghoshal’s performance in Kabir Singh, the second highest-grossing movie of that year. Under the T-Series label, a new song named “Zara Thehro” was released on July 8, 2020. Tulsi Kumar and his brother Armaan Malik sang it.

Amaal Mallik revealed “Tu Mera Nahi,” his debut track, which he sung and performed in association with Sony Music India. Amaal Mallik revealed the title of his next song from the movie Saina. Three songs, “Chal Wahin Chale” (sung by Shreya Ghoshal), “Main Hoon Na Tere Saath” (sung by Armaan Malik), and “Parinda” (sung by Mallik himself), were composed for this movie.

Mallik, Sukriti Kakar, and Prakriti Kakar worked with Dua Lipa on an Indian remix of Levitating in September 2021.
