Singh gained notoriety for playing a deafmute in the Judaai movie from 1997. then gained notoriety for playing the wicked fairy Cruella/Kalipari in Son Pari in a negative light.

Her comic part in the patriotic sitcom Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani on Doordarshan and the thriller Tamanna House on Zee was as Gangaa. Upasana Singh later appeared in a number of regular cast films starring David Dhawan and Priyadarshan in tiny roles.

Her portrayal of the paternal aunt “Bua” on Comedy Nights with Kapil won her a lot of praise from critics. Singh is well-known for her comedic performances in both movies and television shows. She has starred in a number of well-known shows, including Sonpari, Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, Pari Hoon Main, Maayka, Ye Meri Life Hai, and Bani – Ishq Da Kalma. With her roles as Tarawanti on Nadaniyaan and the helpless “Bua” (paternal aunt) on the popular TV series Comedy Nights with Kapil, Singh rose to fame, especially for her catchphrase “Bittu, Kaun hai ye aadmi?” Who is this man, Bittu?

Additionally, she appeared in the highly successful Punjabi film Carry On Jatta’s sequel, which went on to become one of the biggest grossing Punjabi films in India. Gippy Grewal, Sonam Bajwa, and Jaswinder Bhalla are the film’s main stars. Upasana Singh is now starring in the comedy series Jijaji Chhat Per Hain on SAB TV as Panchami (Bebe), Pancham’s mother. Gangs of Filmistan marked her comeback to television.
