Born on March 9, 1974, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi is an Indian actress, model, and singer who has gained recognition for her roles in television, South and Hindi films.

A Telugu family welcomed Suchitra into the world on March 9, 1974, in Mumbai, Maharashtra . Her mother, Dr. Sulochana Krishnamoorthi, was a professor and historian, and her father, V. Krishnamoorthi, was a former income tax commissioner. Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and Suchitra were wed, but later got divorced. Kaveri Kapur is the name of their daughter.

In the years 1987–1988 while still a student, Suchitra began her career with the television series Chunauti. Suchitra Krishnamoorthi performed in a musical called Peanuts: The Musical, which was adapted from the well-known comic strip Peanuts. Suchitra Krishnamoorthi performed in the role of Lucy.

She starred in TV ads for brands like Colgate toothpaste, Palmolive soap, Clearasil, Sunrise Coffee, and Limca.[Reference required] Her cinematic debut came in 1994 when she costarred with Shahrukh Khan in the critically and commercially successful movie Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. Suchitra’s memoir Drama Queen, which was published in November 2013, got favourable reviews. Within a week of its publication, the book’s first print ran out of copies.
October 2016 saw the NCPA Mumbai open Drama Queen, a musical created by Suchitra based on her book of the same name. Drama Queen is still being performed on stages around India. Released on Amazon India in 2022, “Odd Couple” is a feature film starring Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Vijay Raaz, and Divyendu Sharma. It spent several months trending in the top ten on Amazon India.
