Born on November 28, 1982, Sriya Reddy is an Indian actress, video jockey, and television presenter who mostly works in Telugu and Tamil movies. Sriya, who was born into the family of former Indian test cricketer Bharath Reddy, was a successful video jockey with SS Music before deciding to pursue an acting career.

After making her film debut in Samurai (2002), she went on to feature in almost a dozen Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam productions. Her most well-known roles were in Black (2004), Thimiru (2006), and Kanchivaram (2008).
Sriya Reddy Early Life
Indian cricketer Bharath Reddy gave birth to Sri Lanka in a Telugu family. After completing her education at Good Shepherd School , she continued her studies in Chennai’s Ethiraj College. Cricket players Ravi Shastri and Sandeep Patil complemented her good voice when they visited their home when she was a toddler. Sriya Reddy was approached to model while still in school, but she had to turn them down because her father insisted that she complete her education before anything else. Sriya Reddy managed to persuade her father that she would pursue her studies in addition to being a VJ after she received an audition opportunity from Southern Spice Music, one of the top music channels.
Sriya Reddy Career
Following her victory in SS Music’s VJ Hunt, Sriya began presenting programmes including Connect and Phonetastic. Sriya Reddy did, however, mention that it took five auditions for her to be chosen. As ‘VJ Sriya’ on SS music, she rose to fame and gained recognition among younger viewers. Despite her parents’ disapproval of her performing in movies, she went ahead and took her first acting role for a Telugu movie, claiming that she signed the contract when her father was sleeping.
However, Samurai, the film that Balaji Sakthivel directed for the first time, was her debut release. Sriya Reddy costarred with Vikram in a supporting role. After her first Telugu film, Appudappudu, bombed at the box office, she took a year and a half to return to the film industry.
Her next release came in 2004 when she made her Malayalam film debut in Black, starring Mammootty. She portrayed a young Tamil villager who travels to the city to look for her husband, who has gone missing . having a “thoroughly de-glamourised look” in the movie, which is completely at odds with how she appears in real life. The director Renjith said that she had a “very Dravidian face” when he decided to cast her.N Actress Sriya saw this movie as her pinnacle of her career because it starred Malayalam superstar Mammootty.
Later that year, Sriya also acted in the English film 19 Revolutions, which was directed by Shridhar Reddy, a resident of Chicago. In the movie, Sriya played a wealthy girl who tries to defraud her father, and she claimed to have done “very well in the US.”

Her only release of the year was the box office hit Malayalam action movie Bharathchandran I.P.S. in 2005. While some praised her work as an IPS police officer, others compared her to Vijayashanti. Sriya Reddy released four films in 2006, with her two Tamil films becoming the most well-known. Sriya played a negative, noisy, and rustic character in Tarun Gopi’s action film Thimiru, which starred her eventual brother-in-law Vishal Krishna. The film received critical accolades for Sriya’s portrayal.

In the other Tamil release, Veyil, a drama film directed by Vasanthabalan and produced by S. Shankar, Sriya starred alongside Bharath, Pasupathy, Bhavana, and Priyanka Nair. The movie received excellent reviews at its premiere and was recognised with a number of prestigious cinema prizes, such as the National cinema Award and two Filmfare prizes. In addition to playing a significant part in Priyadarshan’s critically acclaimed art film Kanchivaram, which won the National Film Award, Sriya was nominated for both the Vijay and the Filmfare Awards. She married and stopped performing after the movie’s filming was over.

Eight years later, she returned with filmmaker Vadivel’s Andaava Kaanom, in which she played a vengeful country woman named Shanthi.
Sriya Reddy Individual Life
On March 9, 2008, Sriya wed actor-producer Vikram Krishna at the Park Sheraton hotel in Chennai. The actor Vishal Krishna is the brother of famous cinema producer G. K. Reddy. Vikram Krishna acted in a few Tamil films before he became a full-time producer, mostly working under his own company, GK Films Corporation, and making films with Vishal in the lead role. Since then, Sriya and her husband have been making films together. Amalia is the couple’s daughter.
